Five months in the making, hand-sculpted in wax and cast in white gold.
At the centre is a 0.78ct icy blue sapphire heart, set alongside tonal blue diamond stars scattered along the band like a celestial sky; a nod to my client’s late grandmother’s eye colour.
She described her grandmother as her twin flame, a connection we symbolised with a secret engraving at the back of the band: a candle with two flames, lives slowly burning toward one another, meeting in the afterlife.
This ring is inspired by Victorian mourning jewellery, a tradition of creating wearable memorials to honour loved ones. This is a contemporary interpretation, balancing sentiment with symbolism.
Thank you to my client for her patience and for trusting me with such a personal piece; it remains one of my favourite mourning designs to date.
