Customs We Love: A Gold Hair Reliquary For A Beloved Dog
My first Memento Mori of 2024 is a hair work reliquary for a beloved family dog. Hand carved from wax and cast in solid 9k yellow gold, the hair is set behind a custom portrait cut Quartz tear drop. The back hides hand engraved winding vines and my clients dogs name 'Laila' in bright cut cursive.
One of my favourite reliquaries to date, I love how this design mixes victorian sentimentality with a contemporary stone cut and shape.
