Customs We Love: An Imprinted Wedding Ring

Emily Proudfoot - Hand Engraved finger print on a 6mm chamfered platinum wedding ring. Bespoke designed bevel band.

Engagement and wedding rings are my favourite pieces to create because they’re so personal; each one completely unique to the couple. This design was even more special, as the brief was to engrave his fiancée’s fingerprint into a heavy 6mm band.

I carved the ring from wax and sculpted it into a chamfered band that gently bevels at the sides. After casting it in platinum and finishing it to a mirror polish, I carefully stencilled the design using an ink print of his partner’s fingerprint and engraved deep, bright cuts.

A truly special, one-of-a-kind piece, thank you for trusting me with this sentimental piecce!

If you would like to create something unique, my custom books are now open for 2026 -  request your project here.
