I’m changing the way custom commissions are accepted and booked from September 2026.

As the studio has grown, the custom process has involved an increasing amount of time spent developing ideas, discussing possibilities and preparing quotations for enquiries that ultimately do not proceed.

These changes are intended to make the process clearer from the outset and ensure that custom enquiries are reserved for clients who are genuinely ready to commission a piece.

Minimum spend

Custom commissions now begin at:

£600 for silver
£1,000 for metals like gold or platinum

The final cost of each commission will depend on the design, materials, metal weight, gemstones, techniques and labour involved.

£100 custom deposit

A £100 Custom Commission Deposit is required before submitting a custom request.

The deposit can be purchased through the website and is credited against the final balance of your commission. 

Your deposit order number must be included when submitting your custom request.

The deposit is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Your deposit will be deducted from the final balance upon your design being finalised and invoiced. If you decide not to proceed with your commission, stop responding during the design process, or otherwise do not continue within this period, the deposit will become void.

Please be ready to proceed

Please only purchase a deposit and submit a custom request if you have a budget available to begin production.

If you are still considering your budget, exploring ideas or are not yet in a position to proceed, please wait until a later date.

The deposit is intended to ensure that custom enquiries are reserved for clients who are ready to engage with the design process and proceed with a commission.

I’ll continue to work with you to develop something individual, whether you arrive with a fully formed idea or need help refining the details.

The custom design process begins with a £100 Custom Design Deposit, which is required before submitting your enquiry.

This covers the design development involved in bringing your idea into something that can actually be made. It includes discussing your ideas, researching and sourcing materials and gemstones, considering construction and setting options, developing the design and working through the practical details needed to produce your piece.

The £100 is credited in full against the final balance of your commission, so it is not an additional charge.

The deposit is valid for 6 months from purchase. When you are ready to submit your enquiry, the form will ask for your name, email address and deposit order number so I can match your enquiry to your purchase.

Please only purchase the deposit when you are ready to begin the process and have a realistic budget available for your commission. The deposit secures the design service, but it does not guarantee that your initial idea can be produced within a particular budget. I will always work with you to find the best way forward and will let you know if your specifications require an increased budget.

If, after our conversations and the design process, you decide that you need more time before proceeding with your custom design production, we can hold your finalised design until you are ready to move forward.

Your final quotation will be agreed with you before production begins.

Custom orders can be created either from a fully bespoke brief or by adapting an existing design from the website. This may include selecting different stone shapes, altering decorative details, or adding features such as engraving that are not currently available to purchase online.

Before submitting a custom request

The custom design process is highly time-intensive, and this ensures that time can be dedicated to clients who are ready to proceed with a commission.

Simple modifications

Straightforward modifications to existing designs do not require a custom commission. Most made-to-order product listings already offer a range of personalisation options.

Submitting a custom request

When you are ready to explore a custom piece, you must first purchase a £100 Custom Commission Deposit through the website.

Once purchased, you will receive an order number. Please quote this number when completing the custom enquiry form.

The deposit is deducted from the final balance of your commission. It is not an additional fee.

Your enquiry form allows you to provide details of your proposed piece, including your ideas, preferred materials, gemstones, approximate budget and any relevant references or inspiration.

Once your request has been received, we will review the brief and, where appropriate, begin discussing the design with you. Through email correspondence and design refinements, we will develop the piece together, discussing decorative details, stone and metal options and providing tailored quotations.

Submitting a custom request does not guarantee that the commission will be accepted or that a particular production date will be available.

Booking & payment

Once your design has been finalised and the quotation agreed, we will confirm your production month and issue an invoice via email through our website.

To secure your production slot, the remaining balance must be paid in full by the 1st of your scheduled production month. Production will not begin until payment has been received in full.

Your £100 custom deposit will be deducted from this final balance.

Every custom commission is individually priced according to the complexity of the design, metal weight, materials, gemstones, setting requirements and labour involved.

Custom commissions begin at £600 for silver and £1,000 for gold or platinum.

As a general guide, custom commissions currently fall within the following ranges:

• Silver: from £600
• 9k gold: approximately £1,000–£3,000
• 14k gold: approximately £2,000–£6,000
• 18k gold or platinum: approximately £2,000–£8,000+

These figures are intended as a guide only. Your final quotation will depend on the specific design, materials and techniques required.

Designs incorporating multiple natural gemstones, intricate settings, pavé work, engraving, enamel or other specialist techniques may incur additional costs.

Gold & precious metal pricing

Due to fluctuations in the price of precious metals, gold quotations are valid for 14 days. After this period, a quotation may need to be revised to reflect changes in material costs.

Timeframes

Most custom commissions take approximately 6–12 weeks to complete and ship once the design has been finalised and production has begun.

More complex commissions may require additional time. This may include pieces requiring custom-cut gemstones, specialist techniques such as champlevé enamel, intricate hand engraving or particularly involved construction.

Your estimated timeframe will be discussed with you during the design process, before your commission is booked into production.

Once your piece is in production, you will receive updates as it progresses towards completion and dispatch.

Please note that production times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. If your piece is required for a particular date, please mention this when submitting your custom request so that we can assess whether the timeframe is achievable before proceeding.

Production slots

Your confirmed production month represents a production slot, rather than an appointment. We aim to have all design details, materials and pricing finalised before your production slot begins.

This allows us to establish an accurate production timeframe and confirm the final cost of your commission before work begins.

Custom deposit

A £100 Custom Commission Deposit is required when submitting your custom request. The deposit is credited towards the final balance of your commission.

The deposit is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

The deposit is intended to be used towards a commission that proceeds through the custom design process. If you choose not to proceed with your commission, stop responding during the process, or otherwise do not continue with the project, the deposit will become void and cannot be transferred or refunded.

If you need to pause or postpone your commission, please contact us as soon as possible. Any request to extend the six-month validity period is considered at our discretion and is subject to availability.

Payment

Once your design has been finalised and your production month confirmed, the remaining balance will be issued by email via an invoice through the website.

The remaining balance is due by the 1st of your scheduled production month, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.

Production will not begin until the commission has been paid in full.

If the remaining balance has not been paid within 14 days of the due date, your production slot will be cancelled and the £100 custom deposit will be forfeited. The production slot may then be offered to another client.

Changes to your production slot

We understand that circumstances can change. However, custom production slots are limited each year and are scheduled specifically around the agreed production calendar.

If you are unable to proceed with your commission as planned, please provide at least 14 days' notice wherever possible. This gives us the opportunity to move your commission to a later available production month, where appropriate, and release your original slot to another client.

Requests to change production dates are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Custom commissions, returns & refunds

Custom-designed and individually produced pieces are non-returnable and non-refundable, as they are made specifically to your agreed specifications.

Please take particular care when providing measurements and sizing information. For example, some rings may not be suitable for resizing after they have been crafted, particularly where delicate or intricate gemstones are incorporated into the design.

If you provide an incorrect size, please contact us as soon as possible. Where technically possible, we may be able to resize the piece for an additional fee.

Design approval

Before production begins, you will have the opportunity to review and approve the agreed design, materials and specifications for your commission.

Once production has begun, changes to the design may no longer be possible and may incur additional costs where alterations can be accommodated.

Please ensure that all details are correct before approving your final design and proceeding to production.
