Objet d'art: The Gate Keeper

An amalgamation of craftsmanship, symbolism and story

New to my Objet D’art series of vessels, each piece is a restored antique engraved with unique symbolism that complements the individual shape and style of its base. This one has been engraved with a scorpion holding a crescent moon, embodying the ideas of threshold and transition. The scorpion, long associated with vigilance, protection, and the cycle of descent and renewal.

I really love working on these 1/1 pieces because they are such a labour of love, an opportunity to broaden my design style and skills while creating something entirely unique: a singular object out in the world to be loved.

Restored and meticulously hand engraved, this one-of-a-kind antique bottle functions as both a perfume vessel and a reliquary, able to hold fragrance or ashes.
