After several years of working with ashes to create mourning jewellery, this was my first piece working with hair. Bekah reached out and wanted to create a piece to honour her beloved Dog Star using clippings of her fur. Star had a beautiful golden ginger and white coat so it was important that we created a piece that properly displayed this.
I had been holding some gorgeous one of kind portrait cut stones that I had procured from the USA, saving them for designs that would make the most of their window like appearance. When Bekah saw the marquise shaped one she instinctively knew that was the one.
