Custom orders can be created either from a fully bespoke brief or by adapting an existing design from the website. This may include selecting different stone shapes, altering details, or adding features such as engraving that are not currently available to purchase online.

For straightforward modifications to existing designs, such as engraving or changes to metal or stone colour, you do not need to book a custom commission. Instead, please get in touch at info@emilyproudfoot.com for pricing and availability.

When you’re ready to explore a custom piece, we ask that you complete our custom enquiry form to help us understand your preferences. Using the information you provide, we will work closely with you to develop your ideas and assess what can be achieved within your budget. Through email correspondence and a series of design refinements, we will guide you through the process, discussing decorative details, presenting stone and metal options, and providing tailored quotes.

Please note that we kindly ask clients to only submit a custom enquiry if they have a realistic budget allocated for the project. The custom design process is highly time-intensive, and this ensures we can dedicate the appropriate level of care and attention to each commission.

Once your design is finalised, we will confirm your production month and issue an invoice via email through our website. This allows you to complete payment using your preferred method and receive real-time updates on dispatch and shipping. For further details, please refer to our ‘Pricing and Timeframes’ section.

To secure your production slot, a non-refundable deposit of £100 is required. This deposit will be deducted from your final balance. The remaining balance is due on the 1st of your scheduled production month. Please note production will not begin on your project until the balance is paid in full.

On average most customs take between 6 - 12 weeks to ship, however this depends entirely on the complexity of the design. Sometimes we will require longer if a design requires custom cut gemstones and specialist techniques like champlevé enamel. We will always discuss timeframes with you during the discussion and design stage, with regular updates throughout the production stage. 

Cost is dependant on the complexity of the design, metal weight, materials and labour. 

To give a rough idea of cost, on average silver jewellery ranges starts from £200 - £800.

9k and 14k Gold jewellery typically ranges from £1000 - £5000. 18k gold or platinum work ranges from £2000 - £7000 +

Please note that due to the fluctuating price of gold, gold quotes are valid for 30 days and after this window, may be subject to change. 

Please note designs with multiple natural gemstones, settings or pavé details may incur additional charges.

Your commission appointment is a production slot, so we aim to finalise all design details prior to your production slot beginning. This allows us to give you an accurate timeline of completion, as well as accurately quote you for the design before we begin crafting. 

The final total of the commission (minus your non refundable deposit) will be sent 7 days before your custom slot begins via an email invoice. This invoice will have a link that will bring you to our website so you can check out via your preferred method. This will also allow you to receive real time shipping updates and tracking once we complete your commission. You will also be able to collect loyalty points on your order.

The payment for your invoice is due by the 1st of the month of your slot booking unless agreed otherwise. Production will not begin on your commission until the payment has been received in full. Failure to pay the remainder of the invoice within 14 days, will void the deposit in full and your production slot will be cancelled and offered to someone else. 

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, however due to only offering a select amount of appointments per year, we have to work to a strict production schedule to ensure others appointment slots are not impacted and that every commission receives the attention it deserves. If you are unable to proceed with your custom commission for any reason, we ask that you give us 14 days notice. This allows us time to move your deposit and slot to another month if you wish to do so and give your upcoming appointment to someone else. 

Custom designed and produced goods are non returnable and non refundable as they are tailor made to your specifications. Please ensure you give us the correct sizing for items like rings, as some rings can not be resized once crafted if they have delicate gemstones set within the piece. If you have ordered an incorrect size, please let us know as soon as possible and if possible, we may be able to resize your design for you for a small fee.
