An Update on Silver

An Update on Silver

After much consideration, I’ll be gradually phasing silver out of my permanent made-to-order collection over the coming months.

As my work has evolved, becoming increasingly ornate and technically demanding, I’ve found myself drawn towards working more with gold and platinum. There are details, surface textures and rarer gemstones I would love to incorporate into my designs, and I feel these materials are better suited to bringing those ideas to life.

With the time, skill and care that goes into creating each piece, I want to work with materials that make sense for the work I’m producing, while giving myself greater freedom to explore more ambitious designs.

Gold is a material I particularly enjoy working with. It polishes beautifully, doesn’t tarnish like silver, and offers a finish that I feel better complements the longevity and quality I want each piece to embody. It also allows me to explore more intricate surface textures and decorative details that are less suited to silver. Focusing on gold and platinum will allow me to develop my work without the same constraints around materials and production.

As I look towards the next chapter of my business, I want to be more intentional about how I spend my time in the studio, dedicating more of it to developing new designs and techniques that reflect the direction I want my work to take.

A thank you to silver

I’m incredibly grateful to have worked with silver over the last 13 years. It has given me the freedom to experiment, develop my designs and build the knowledge and technical skills that have shaped the work I make today. It has been an important part of my journey as a jeweller, and I don’t intend to leave it behind entirely.

I’ll continue to use silver for creative exploration and limited releases, and I look forward to sharing samples and new ideas with you along the way.

What this means for silver

Throughout the remainder of 2026, I’ll be releasing a handful of limited-edition silver pieces as I transition towards a gold and platinum collection. These will be some of the final opportunities to acquire selected designs in silver.

From March 2027, silver will no longer be available as a permanent option for made-to-order pieces. Effective immediately, I’ll also no longer be accepting custom commissions in silver. Bespoke commissions will focus on gold and platinum, allowing me to concentrate on projects that align with the direction of my work.

Limited silver pre-orders and Objet d’Art releases

I know that many of you have collected my silver pieces over the years, and I want to leave room for those who prefer silver jewellery.

Going forward, new permanent collection designs will be available to pre-order in silver for a limited one-month window before joining my permanent collection in gold and platinum. Once that window closes, silver will no longer be available to order for that release. Existing collectors will be notified of these limited silver pre-releases via my mailing list ahead of time.

I’ll also continue to release silver Objet d’Art pieces, including sculptural objects and restored antique silver pieces featuring one-of-a-kind engravings. These limited releases will allow me to continue exploring silver without maintaining it as a year-round made-to-order option.

Thank you for supporting my work over the years and allowing me the space to continue evolving as a maker. Silver has played a significant role in shaping the work I create today, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this next chapter takes me.
